| Current report:
Work:
I have a great job. I work for two different magazines: one is a trade
publication for the retail industry, and the other is for
high-schoolers in the college search/application process. A lot of the
people at my company are older, quirky, Charismatic Christians. I feel
like I am thriving in a lot of these challenges, but I am having to
work hard to learn and keep up with AP style and the other tools of the
trade. Let me know if you'd like a copy of either magazine.
Home:
I live in a cute part of town, and within a few blocks of my house
there is a hospital, a high school sports field, a memorial park, a
Starbucks, a grocery store, and some other little shops. It's great for
walking. I have two missions-minded, prayer warriors of roommates, and
they also love to decorate, cook, minister to the needy, and talk about
boys. Our house is small but clean, bright, cozy, and adorable. Come by
sometime and let us make you a latte.
Church:
I have an incredible PCA church, and I am falling more and more in love
with her. Small and racially/socio-economically diverse, there are a
lot of needs. There are only a few people my age/single, but we are
starting to find each other. Although I sometimes feel drained by my
youth group and nursery commitments, usually they bring me a lot of
joy. We'd love to have you.
The money is tight, the pace is
fast, and the nature is sparse. But I have the time and space to pray
and to look at faces that I love. So things are good.
(Ro and Faith, thanks for praying ... I got some friends. )

| Well, I suppose I didn't represent the majority. The article took a different slant, saying that Christian's were thrilled with the film. Here is the following day's headline.
The film was beautiful visually, but I suppose since I am such a Lewis fan, my expectations were disappointed. I did not find Aslan to be a strong or compelling character. And I thought Peter was a little feminized, too....especially in the first wolf-killing scene (it made it look like he only accidentally killed the wolf, when it jumped on his sword....and that moment was a powerful bildugsroman in the book). |

| I just got back from the Narnia movie. I have a strong opinion about the film--and tomorrow it may be in the Orlando Sentinel!

| Sad today.
And feeling apologetic for the boring nature of my recent posts. My brain is getting a little mushy ... I've had very little time for studying/reading recently.
And sad to be living in America. I want to be poorer and simpler. And I want to hang out with people who are.
Do you ever pause to be thankful that God made the Bible so long?
